HAPPY FALL, Y'ALL!
Apart from setting up our monthly Dr. Christopher's sales, I've been pretty absent from connecting with you all, and there's so much to catch you up on! As our summer growing season comes to a close, here's everything that's been happening on the farm and in the tea house.
RECORD HERB HARVESTS
It's been a great summer, with record harvests of chamomile, spearmint, peppermint, calendula, alfalfa, desert sage, plantain, catnip, comfrey, motherwort, dandelion, sunflower petals, and yarrow. We also FINALLY got stinging nettle established, so in a year or two we'll be sourcing that from our own farm too! Shop single herbs from our farm
NEW TEA BLENDS IN THE WORKS
We've been testing formulas for three new blends:
- A headache tea, inspired by a client who sent us a rave review
- A lemon-mint blend
- A golden flower-based blend

A NEW LOOK IS COMING
You may have noticed some of your teas arriving with multiple layers of labels. As our teas have traveled further and more often than ever this year, we've been troubleshooting why our "smudge-proof guaranteed" labels have been anything but. Our label supplier finally told us the only real fix is switching to vinyl labels, so you'll see a different look on our labels very soon.
At the same time, we've been searching for a more eco-friendly way to package and label our teas. We've landed on moving our best sellers into full-print, recyclable HDPE pouches. They have a much better environmental footprint, and they'll save us a lot of time on labeling! We've hired a designer for a full packaging overhaul and can't wait to show you our new look around November.
32 TABLESPOONS IN EVERY POUCH
Our teas have always been packaged by weight, and every blend has had the exact same weight. That has bothered me for a while, because some teas look underfilled while others look ready to burst out of the bag, simply because some herbs are fluffier and bulkier than others. So along with the packaging update, we've decided to FINALLY standardize our [tea blends](https://herbalembrace.com/collections/herbal-teas) by VOLUME instead.
Here's what that means for you:
1. Every full-size pouch now holds 32 tablespoons of tea. That makes 32 pints, or 64-96 cups, depending on whether you use a heaping teaspoon or a level teaspoon per 8-oz cup of water.
2. For several blends, that's more tea by weight than before. After running the numbers for each blend, averaging them, and rounding the price DOWN to the nearest $10, our new prices are $20 for a full-size pouch and $10 for a mini pouch.
3. Pouches still in the old 1.76 oz size are staying at their original prices. You'll find them in the Discounted section of our website.
